For those who aren't on Facebook or didn't see my daughter's post there, here's what she had to announce:
We wanted to wait until I'd reached the 12 week "safe" marker (when the danger of 1st trimester miscarriages has passed) to share, and she did the honors of calling family members today after my first exam with my new midwife. She's been so excited, waiting for the chance to share, she almost forgot what to say when she made the calls. She's also been a complete nag about my health and sleeping habits, telling me about the revelations she's made in her reading of pregnancy and early parenting books. So cute!
Anyway, it may just be commonplace, everyday news on a global scale, but for this little family, it's a blessing and joy, especially given the sadness and long-standing physical trauma 2007 had on me. And don't worry, I'll try to keep the "baby talk" to a minimum here. Not that I update very much, but there's a lot still going on, I just haven't had a lot of energy lately to follow through on everything (which should now change since my midwife just gave most of my supplements a pass to be reintegrated into my daily routine).
Love!
Great news everyone! I'm going to be a big sister! My mom, Raven, is pregnant! We went to the midwife today and heard his heartbeat today! She's due April 9th! Hope her water doesn't break during the masquerade at Norwescon.
