Just saving a few links for later purusal. Look through them if you wish, but they're meant as a way for me to keep track of them. (If I put links in my favorites, I never see them again.)
Naturist Links
Fraternity Snoqualmie (recommended by
shannonkringen)
Clothes Free
Sun Lovers Under Grey Skies (SLUGS), which is a wholly unattractive name for something I enjoy.
Lake Associates Recreation Club (LARC)
American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR): Washington
Rant: Why is there nothing really close to or in Seattle? Why are there no groups affiliated with Seattle city proper? Does no one have a backyard big enough or fences high enough that we can congregate together in the nude during the warm months? Nude BBQ? It's rather frustrating to me to find that most naturist activities require both a car and large sums of money. Resorts are expensive. Why no nude or clothing optional areas of beaches? Surely this liberal city has something more to offer us, because it most certainly should. We're a green-loving city, it's just begging for some nudity outside of the Fremont Solstice Parade. Do we even have a Seattle/Naturist LJ community? *adds to list of research*
Driving School Links
Sears Driving School (Um, but how much? And why so far away?)
Kirshner Adult Classes (located near my grandparents)
Defensive Driving School (all the way up in Lynnwood!)
Rant: The last one is probably the one I'd enjoy the best, but the middle one (as far as I can tell) has better prices. Nevertheless, ALL of the driving schools in the area that I've been able to find online are located fairly far away--I'd have to drive to them to learn from them! Ha! They're also bloody expensive for me. I've got a few hundred left from my tax refund (I had intended to save around $1500, but you know, the unexpected always comes up), and without ANY income, I need to save what I can for bills (our electric bill hasn't been paid in four months, it's $457, and I have to go to an intensive appointment to beg for assistance in having a program pay for part of it). Maybe I'll be working soon, but half of the jobs I like that are out there REQUIRE a license and the ability to drive a company car. WTF? If it's downtown, I should be allowed to take a free bus to the local bank, but no! Argh. *frustration*
3rd Rant: Oh, and did I mention Ana has to go to public school if I don't find a good source of steady income?!? I'm filling out the forms right now, and I'm not happy about it. As it is, the school only a few blocks away that's alternative has a waiting list far beyond 30 children. My second choice is a long walk away, but has an emphasis in art, music, and dance. Let's pray she can at least get into that one. But I don't know, by fall, what job I'll have, what form of transportation I'll have, and where I'll be living. I doubt I'll still be in this apartment by the end of August, but ... I don't know. I have to make all decisions based on the here and now. ArRRrrrrRRgh! And the enrollment bitch who answered the info line was excessively rude to me, emphasized that Ana's enrollment will be marked "LATE" (I just found out she'd be Kindergarten age for fall about a week ago), and refused to send me an enrollment package, which I know they can do because they sent one to another parent at Ana's preschool. *grr*
Breathe, Raven. Breathe. There is laundry to do. All will be well.
