Jun. 7th, 2005 11:20 amThanks to
jodawi to all of his efforts in giving me a working (and fucking-fantastic) computer (among other things), along with an entire hard drive full of new music for me to enjoy. :) I'll make room for some of those Beatles songs. ;)
I just spent my morning at the breakfast table with Ana, filling out a dozen birthday invitations because her school closes today, and I'd rather she had her friends at this year's birthday. 5 is a big one for those wee tots. My hand was starting to cramp and my penmanship grew steadily worse, but I got them finished, took her to her last day of school, and promptly retured, realizing I'd never have enough time at WorkFirst to do enough job searching up there AND get all of the school/daycare paperwork finished before 3. There's a party at her school this afternoon, and of course, I'll be there with bells on to entertain the children and butter up the parents in an effort to allow her a chance to keep her friends. Of course, the three from her past are gone. Drew, Chloe, and Sam. They were kindred spirits to her. I can't get ahold of Drew's mom who hasn't returned my calls, Chloe's mom invited us for dinner during the winter when we were sick, and she hasn't returned my phone calls from spring, but I'll keep trying. Sam's parents didn't leave a number or let us know they were leaving. We have no way of contacting him. *sighs* At least I can try to keep in touch with Cadence, Lauren S., and Caleb for her. Bah!
She's already excited about her new school, and wanted to stay yesterday, but we had to head off to get food for dinner and such.
For those who have $150 to spend, and aren't aware: Permanent Accounts on sale today until 12am EST/9pm PST. *sighs longingly* I hope everyone who can afford it, gets one! *hugs* Look at it as free bandwidth for the rest of your life ... or the life of LJ.

Ethnic You scored 33 popularity, 57 history, 60 creativity, and 70 texture! |
You like uncommon, traditional names that have a definate flair, but still have roots in reality. Like Ethnic names. Maybe you've done research and found out that your grandfather only became Bob Smith because the clerk at Ellis Island had too much trouble with his real name. Or maybe you lived in another country and love the names that are common there.Try looking up your ethnic roots at www.behindthename.com , there's lists of names for a wide variety of ethic groups. One word of caution- do your research, and know the language and culture that goes with the name. Don't just believe what it says in a baby name book about Neveah being Slavic for Butterfly. Other catagories with names you might like are: Weird Magic, Exotic Traditional, Legendary, Old-Fashioned The naming style most unlike yours is Popular. You probably think those names are overused and lacking in roots. It's not likely you'll find many names to agree on with somone who has that naming style. |
