Bullshit. Even when I'm doing my best, I still make a little space in my head for worry. :P

My dreams betray me. I am heartsore yet again. *sighs* All from an unexpected smile.

Soy may lengthen a woman's menstrual cycle.

This explains so much about the recent changes my moon. I used to be on the new moon every month, guaranteed (although for the duration of Heidi's stay here, I was on the full moon, but meh). In the last several months I've significantly increased my soy intake, especially soy milk, tofu, and protein items that use soy as their primary source. In the last three months, or so, my cycle has gone from being linked to the lunar calendar to something more akin to a 40-ish day cycle. Strange, eh?

The article above also goes on to expound the virtues of calcium and magnesium to reduce PMS symptoms and water retention respectively, but after speaking to my doctor recently, I apparently have an unusually high level of calcium. I'm only about half a point above the maximum "normal" range for calcium, but I explained to him it's due to a concern that my grandmother has osteoperosis and other concerns that lead me to take lots of it. Apprently, I get plenty. He mentioned that too much calcium can lead to kidney stones, and I laughed and said, "It's a precarious balance!" He replied, "Everything is in life." And then we waxed philosophic for a while about the nature of life and medicine. La. I love my doctor, I just wish Vicky hadn't left because she was even cooler (and I preferred her to do my pap).

Soy will not, as many articles say, screw up fertility, but I wonder if it interferes in hormonal birth control in any way.
