Repo! The Genetic Opera was fucking awesome! Fan of dark films? Liked RHPS? Help support it! They're taking this from city to city on their own because mainstream viewers and businessmen in suits with dour faces don't think there's an audience for this. If you'd been there tonight, you know that there is a very devout audience already, none of us who had seen the film beforehand, and at least half of the audience showed up in costume, and about a third of those costumes were directly related to the movie. There was such an amazing atmosphere. How do I let my words do justice without enough sleep and wracked with anxiety from driving for over an hour over flooded streets? But, seriously. I was pulled aside by someone helping get this movie launched, and she spent a lot of time asking me questions about what I liked about the movie, how I'd heard about it, and whether or not I thought we'd come back to see it again November 22nd if they put it out. So make your voice heard, if you want to see this, they're trying to get it to show again in a couple of weeks. I certainly want to go again, and take Craig with me. Of course, it won't have the director, co-writer/co-music producer, music producer there, but they'll be lowering the price as well.

Talk to Admiral Theatre, talk on the Repo! boards, get the word out and then go see this film!

The music was astounding, the visuals were shocking, the acting was sublime. Did I mention that I not only got Terrance Zdunich's autograph before the show, but also got a big hug and wet kiss after? *broad grin*

But you know what made this night amazing? Besides the film itself, the music, the audience participation, and the makers there and available? I was there with three very beautiful women who let me pet them and squeeze in between them, who shouted, whistled, cheered and stomped as much as I did, and were just as excited to be there. The atmosphere, costumes, and audience members reminded me that there are places where I can go where I'm among similar people. Conventions aren't the only place, they're dressing up every weekend and going to performances like this.

Seriously, GRAAAAAAVES!!!!

Damnit, I've lost my brain for the evening, and can't remember something Terrance said during the Q & A, but maybe [livejournal.com profile] damashita can help me with it. We were giggling about it afterwards. Murr. To bed! I still have school and a mountain of homework in the morning.

"What's your name?"
"Raven."
*growls* "Are you on the boards?"
"Mm, no."
"It's just that Raven is a name popular on ..."
"It's my birth name." *proffers hand, watches him hesitate and look disappointed*

It's a good thing I went back later for that hug. *squee*
