Sometimes remembering to check Glynis' blog now and again reminds me of all the wonderful things I loved and continue to love about her. Why the hell did we spend so many years apart?

For the Well-Being of the Household

Tonight! Traditional chicken noodle soup with carrots, onions, wide spinach noodles, and lemon juice.
Tomorrow! Vegan potato corn chowder with turnip, zucchini, and mushroom. (Neither of those links have recipes that will look like mine, but I like to see what other people do for inspiration on my own cooking.)

Craig said something about the BBC Raw Story saying that Obama has OK'd torture*. I have no links to this, and I'm not feeling well enough to hunt them down, but there is an upside: He did sign that Kids' Health Insurance Bill that W refused to push forward. I like how all of the quotations from dissenters are all Republican, and their critiques make me laugh. The first about whether it will freeze private insurers? I'm hoping it's the first step to putting them out of business and putting the plans for universal healthcare in place as a real possibility for our backwards country. The second about it being a "tax increase" is just funny; yes, it is! For tobacco! Which is bad for people who use it recreationally rather than as a sacred tool! And OMG, it's going to make sure children in the U.S. can get medical and dental care! *gasp* How horrid. But like, torture? Condoning it?

I go stir soup now. Craig should be home soon with Enchanted from the library, but something tells me that Ana wants to watch The Pit and the Pendulum. Vincent Price looks so young!

*EDIT: Raw Story Report about Obama/UK. As I said in a comment below, I'm not making sense of much that I'm reading at this point. I barely got through a graphic novel ten minutes ago. :P
