This morning we held a vigil for my other grandmother--Grand Marie--as today would have been her 90th birthday. She never had a funeral or a memorial service given the circumstances of our living situation when she died. We toasted her favorite English muffin--Thomas brand--and set it on a plate with a banana (her daily breakfast for all of my childhood). A beeswax candle was lit and sat in front of a family Christmas photo on the piano. We purchased a minidaffodil plant and set it next to the brekkie. As the candle burned, we shared an English muffin with her and I drummed. I had a vision of her and afterward sat quietly until the candle burned down.
Ana and I saw "Definitely, Maybe," and we both liked it very much.
I learned yesterday that when performing, one should never use a prop when one's body will do.
