[Poll #1565234]

For our final projects in Ceramic Art Throwing, we are required to make both a set of dishes intended to be the service for a meal with any one person alive, dead, mythical, or fictional, and a jug or drinking vessel that contains a self-portrait.

While the self-portrait does not need to be a face, or an exact replica, it has to be representative of us. Someone who knows me very well must be able to say, "oh, that's you!"

So, I mentioned this to [livejournal.com profile] damashita who, when making a suggestion of what to do, started with my breasts. Ana agreed with this notion that my breasts were prominent. It was said that I have a lot of confidence in my breasts, and the conversation devolved from there until we were laughing and joking about making a pair of "jugs," "milk jugs" if you will, where one drinks or pours through the nipples. We even went far enough to decide that one would be for dairy and the other, some non-dairy creamer like soy creamer.

I went to ask Craig about what feature he most associated with me, and he thought a long time, rather than giving me the immediate, gut answer I'd asked for, and said "face." I narrowed my eyes, because I know his love of breasts. I know how important they are, and when he backed away from an honest answer, Ana did as well. She stopped talking about breasts, and started saying belly.

So, what say you? Do I make the shapeshifter face I had originally intended? Or do I make a pair of "jugs" complete with my pale skin, prominent network of turquoise veins, and beige nipples? Do I go the route of the crude and blatant?

I'll be meeting with my instructor this week to discuss my project ideas. I need to have a sketchbook ready and full. The other decision, with whom I'd dine, is difficult enough, since my list is rather long. I've narrowed it down to: Danlo or Kalinda of the Flowers from Zindell's Requiem for Homo Sapiens, Valentine Michael Smith from Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land, or the Fairy Court.

We have to plan out an entire meal that we would feed to them, and make the dishes necessary to serve that meal for the two of us. The Fairy Court was a bad idea from the beginning, since it's hard to say whether the fairies would remain small, or if by Fairy Court, the invitations would be misconstrued to include only elves, or an entire menagerie of the Fae and Fae-born. Above all, though, there ought to be 14 place settings (one for me, and 13 for the Court). Far more than what is requested by the instructor for this project.

Honestly, though I am sure your breasts are wonderful, I've mostly ever seen pictures of your face, and you do have very striking eyes, so that's the first thing that came to mind.
