Nice thought, but it looks to me like the thing isn't around his neck, just in front of it. :-/

No, but they couldn't actually do that. He probably held that pose for two or three minutes before they got this shot right. They're implying it, though. It's the old, "twist your body, thrust your chest out, head back, back, no too far, a little bit to the left, now put your arm around her leg, and the other one back a bit, sit up straight, look at the camera, nose to the lights, ... now look natural."
