neversremedy8: (We Need to Talk)

Check out one of the remaining videos on YouTube that talks honestly about Palin's policy on rape kits. It's not exactly new news (somehow the Renegade Right manages to throw out at least one doozy a day), but Sarah Palin held a policy in her town of Wasilla that required rape victims in the ER to pay for their own rape kits. As [livejournal.com profile] duckydoolittle pointed out, this is a war on the poor. Being able to get the tests necessary to prosecute one's rapist is essential to the victim and to the community; money should not be an obstacle to any person that has suffered such an atrocity.

And yet, ALMOST EVERY SINGLE VIDEO TALKING ABOUT THIS ATROCITY HAS BEEN PULLED FROM YOUTUBE. It's far from the only censorship I've seen recently on YouTube ... censorship that goes far beyond copyright worries, and into the realm of political and social silencing. As if we don't have enough of a skewed media on mainstream television and in mainstream newspapers, but now the realm of free thought and shared information is becoming increasingly censored. Who agreed to pull this? Why?

I have been posting comments about this to each one that's been pulled asking the same question. Why is this pulled and many other videos that show how scary Palin is, yet negative ads and videos with falsified "facts" about Obama, Nader, and other moderate or liberal points of view have been left for anyone to watch.

If you have the opportunity, pass along videos that show the truth and preserve them. Keep reposting them, and don't let them censor the truth.

One of the scariest theories I've heard is that the issue isn't with the rape kits themselves. It's with the emergency contraception that's included in them. Sarah Palin is on record saying she has no problems with an "evidence gathering test"..

That's just sick. EC isn't an abortive, it's a preventative. Gods, people who do this are insane.
