(no subject)

I just received an email from Safeway.com with a subject heading that reads:

"We've Moved Your Cheese!"

My gut reaction was to shout at the screen:
What?! That's my cheese, bitch! What are you doing moving it? Get your filthy, festering hands off my cheese!!! *gets sawn off shotgun and aims it at Safeway* ... *pants heavily while reading email* ... Oh. *lowers shotgun* ... they just put all the domestic and imported cheeses in the same area of their stores. *puts stray hairs back in place* Mm ... cheeeeeeese. Look Jen, pictures of cheeeeeeeese. Mm. Brie and Roquefort right there. Yeah, I gotta get me some of that.

In case you were curious about my meals lately, which I'm sure no one is but me who basks in the glory of her cooking even if it isn't as grand as I'd like to think it is:

Friday: (Dinner) Fish 'n' chips (we were having a Brit night: London news, Harry Potter, and fish 'n' chips with tea after; sadly, we had no Red Dwarf or Are You Being Served? available.)

Saturday: (Lunch) Fish tacos; (Dinner) Homemade cabbage soup with potatoes and carrots (vegan, but made with the same spices that go on corned beef; to give it the flavor I wanted--corned beef and cabbage flavor--I also added a little liquid smoke, vegetable bullion, and thai hot chili sesame oil. I was out of peppercorns.)

Sunday: (Lunch) Fish tacos/burritos; (Dinner) Left over cabbage soup with chocolate/french vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Monday: (Dinner) Organic chicken franks with a side of seasoned potatoes and peas.

Tuesday: (Breakfast) Scrambled eggs with crumbled tofu and a side of grapes; (Lunch) Two slices of French bread with sliced tomato and pepper jack cheese melted over the top. (Dinner) Chicken drummettes in sweet chili sauce with brussel sprouts and cheesy rice.

Tomorrow: (Lunch) More toasted French bread slices, this time with zucchini (from my grandmother's garden), tomato, and pepper jack! (Dinner) Pasta w/ vodka marinara.

Thursday: (Dinner) Fish jambalaya with steamed cauliflour.

... because I'm a good mom, no matter what Ana thinks of my cooking. If it isn't animal flesh with cheese and bread goods (or sweets), then it's not good food. *rolls eyes*

I am now registered with Seattle Writer Grrls to get resources and contacts. Jen and I have also sent out an advert on Craigslist to start a Women's Writing Group. We've had two very good responses thus far (one who won't be joining for a month or so, though). See ad?

Ice Aged Dildo found ... excuse me, a Prehistoric "tool." via [livejournal.com profile] tulaq I'm glad to know that people in the Ice Age knew how to please their women. :)

Editing Certificate at the UW. Why in Erollisi's name did no one tell me that the UW had a CERTIFICATE PROGRAM for editors that doesn't require getting a four year degree? Damnit, I could already have that by now. With fees, books, and tuition, the program costs around $2500. Surely, I can find some bank to give me a student loan for that much. *sputters, shouts obscenities at the wall* I still want to complete my B.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology, but if the program takes a shorter amount of time, I might start with that. I could really have used this information several years ago, and I just now stumble upon it at another web site. *heavy sigh*

In addition to being a symbolic representation of male genitalia, it was also at times used for knapping flints,"

Sounds yums.

Well, it is yummy. I'm a fair cook, and I take as much pleasure in coooking/eating food as I do in certain bedroom activities. I'm a classic hedonist with the exception of consuming wines.

[identity profile] flannelcat.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No wine? :(
Wine is good for you. :P

I'm RIGHT there with you on hedonism, though....taste and smell and senesation and...*Happysigh*

I would imagine anyone who twirls flaming batons would have to be a bit passionate, love. ;)

No, no wine ... or at least not in quantities much worth noting. My body doesn't metabolize it well, and I get very drunk quite easily. I'll have a few sips, but I'll be warm, giddy, talkative, and sleepy after drinking them.

Not batons...that would be SILLY. :P

Is Poi!

Oh, excuse me. I wasn't familiar with the proper language involved. I'm an earth/water person, so fire just kinda makes me go "ooh, pretty ... stay back!"

I worked with a woman who was a fire eater, and she showed me how she did it. I was fascinated, and turned on, but was terrified of thinking about doing it myself. I have immense respect for your art/skill/twirly-fire-of-the-pretty ... I'm just a coward about such things m'self.

Oh, and I've added you to my AIM buddy list should you ever make your way onto it. I believe we were to discuss trees at some point. :)

[identity profile] flannelcat.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh...I don't have AIM. Unless it works on Hotmail as well.

[identity profile] neversremedy.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh? Your userinfo said you did. *pout* I don't use ICQ/Yahoo/Hotmail. Ah well.

[identity profile] flannelcat.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you mean "You had an AIM name in your userinfo." Nothing of the sort.... :P

(No more AOL for me, as of about 8 months ago. Shows how often I update...)

[identity profile] neversremedy.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. Hm. Well ... What are we to do, then?

[identity profile] flannelcat.livejournal.com 2005-07-27 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Why, download Trillian of course!

DFlannelcat on AIM... *Grin*
